A day-long National Seminar on “Fair Price of Agro-products & Food safety-for Sustainable Development in Health &Agriculture”was held on 7thDecember, 2019 (Saturday) at the Conference Hall (1F) of the Center for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.Unnayan Dhara, Bangladesh and Bread for the world, Germany, organized this seminar.Prof. Dr. Hossain Uddin Shekhar, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka, grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Eng. Md. Liakat Ali, Ex-Director General of Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) & Mr. Gabinda Saha, Country Consultant, Bread for the world, Germany, was grace the occasion as special guests. Experts from Governmental organizations, media, international organizations, entrepreneurs, journalist and educationist from universities, shared their ideas and recommendations’, address challenges, and discuss strategies to enhance the continuing global efforts to deliver safe foods for a better health and environment of the people of the country. Dignitaries from Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Information & Communication Technology, Directorate of health services, Department of Agriculture, Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, Association of Development Agencies in Bangladesh, Community Development Authority, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Directorate of National Consumers Rights Protection ,Consumers rights and protection council, Public health specialist, nutritionists, economist, scientists, professors, farmers associations, and NGOs senior leader were present in the meeting.The Day long scientific discussion sessions provided several recommendations to improve sustainable agriculture through eco-sensitive agriculture practices and by reducing the use of chemical.
